History 1978: Dr. Peder Hancher, a dentist in Wellsville, NY and his brother Roger Hancher started a lumber yard to help supply Dr Hancher’s local construction company. Because the lumber yard was located on Fassett Lane in Wellsville they decided to name the business Fassett Lane Lumber. Fassett Lane Lumber started with a 1200 square foot store with four outside storage buildings and employed six people.
